Calling all Bookworms, TV show bingers and movie buffs!! Residents and their guests are invited to come to the Carmel Bookmobile, which will be making regular, weekly stops at the Westons every Tuesday from 1:45-2:45 PM during the summer.  Materials include books and DVDs, so bring your library card and get ready to browse! The library asks that you be completely dry before entering, so please dry off before making your way there if you're getting out of the pool.   As the saying from Schoolhouse Rock goes, "Knowledge is Power!" 

The 2019-20 school year begins this morning, so watch out for children boarding and deboarding the bus! Please stop at all stop signs, as well as BOTH sides of the street if a bus has its stop arm out.  Carmel Police plan to heavily enforce this law starting today, so if you're caught, you WILL get a ticket and/or a court summons!

Given the overwhelming success of the Carmel Library's Bookmobile this summer, the Library has given us the option to continue this into the Fall.  The Bookmobile will, starting August 13 and every Tuesday through the Fall (end date TBA), now stop at the Westons on Independence Drive in front of the pool after school, from 3:45-4:30 PM.  Please continue to bring the kiddos after school to help get them back into the swing of things!

Oupa!! Dust off those togas you haven't worn since you recreated the toga party scene from Animal House back in college and come show some love for our Greek friends and neighbors who've been very hospitable towards us with regards to using their facility for our monthly meetings. 

 

Gyros, Spanikopita, my favorite Saganaki and of course Loukoumades will all be on the menu throughout the weekend, so stop by once, or multiple times!  The festival also features traditional dancing, a Greek market and a kids' area (with cheap and yummy snocones!).  Admission is free; just pay for the food and drinks (plastic is accepted).  It's like being in Athens without the expensive plane flight or smog (or for that matter schlepping to the Children's Museum to see their exhibit on Greece)! There is a shuttle from Kroger at 106th/Michigan if you'd like to park for free; otherwise, it's $5 to park on the cathedral grounds.  Or, it's only about a 10-15 minute walk from the Westons.
