I want to communicate a few things to you as we get started here in 2012. There are several items you'll want to take note of:
Dues Reminder Board Member Open Position Change to Covenant Violation Process Trash Can Reminder Suspicious Activity Reminder Meeting Location and Change of Date for February Meeting
1) The 2012 budget and dues assessment letters went out in December. Payment is due by January 31st in order to avoid a late fee. Also, please include your current email address on the payment stub, so we can update our records.
2) Andrew Kossack resigned from his position on the board late last year and we are looking for someone willing to complete his term (through next election in September). If you would like to serve the neighborhood by volunteering for the board, please let Robin Guyon at Ardsley or one of the other board members know.
3) First, let me say the vast majority of our residents are doing a good job following the covenants and taking care of their property. That is one of the best ways to be a good neighbor. Unfortunately, we have some that don't know or don't care and that causes an extra burden on the board and our management company.
To hopefully help address the issue, the board voted to have our management company charge a $25 processing fee for sending a 2nd notice out regarding a covenant violation. There will be plenty of opportunity (usually a couple weeks) for the resident / homeowner to address the violation reported in the first notice or to contact Ardsley to make arrangements for when the violation will be addressed.
4) The new trash can and recycle cans arrived in December from Republic. Please remember that all storage containers (including trash and recycling) need to be stored out of view from the street.
5) There has been some suspicious activity in the neighborhood recently -- some of which we've sent email alerts on. If you see anything suspicious, please contact the Carmel Police department dispatch number (571-2580). Also please let a member of the WPHOA board know, so we can communicate appropriately.
6) The WPHOA board meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at College Park Church (96th and Towne). In February, due to the meeting falling on Valentine's Day, we've rescheduled the meeting for Thursday the 16th and will be meeting in room S103, the "Young Families Room". If you have a comment or question, we love to hear them. You can email a board member or show up for a meeting.
Thanks for making it through that long list.
As a board, we like to make sure we have an email address for everyone, but often we don't. If you know someone that lives in our neighborhood that isn't getting neighborhood emails, please encourage them to sign up on our website (www.thewestons.org) or forward (which an option at the bottom of this email) the emails to them.
Be a Great neighbor!
Sincerely, John Benjamin, President WPHOA
