Sport Court Renovation Project
Posted on Jan 19th, 2018 Comments (0)

Hopefully the snow, ice and cold temps haven’t dampened your competitive spirit, because, as previously announced, the sports courts are being renovated later this spring to provide an enjoyable experience for years to come.  The project is slated to begin, weather permitting, on or around May 7 and is expected to take about 3 to 4 weeks.

During this time, the courts will be inaccessible to residents, but the playground will remain open.  Our hope is to have this project complete in time for the 2018 summer season.

The Spring 2018 project scope will will include:

Basketball Court Replacement:

  • Removal and disposal of the current asphalt court and four goals
  • Rotate the court 180 degrees to allow for one full-size court or two half-courts
  • Install new concrete court over re-compacted stone base
  • Install new basketball goals, including a shorter height, child-friendly goal
  • Striped for full regulation high school sized court with out-of-bounds striping

Tennis Court Refurbishment:

  • Cracks filled and repaired using the ARMOR® Crack Repair System
  • Apply three coats of acrylic surfacer and new colors
  • Striped for tennis court and two pickleball courts
  • Install new net posts and net, as well as 5’ courtside bench
  • Removal and replacement of the fence

We are currently waiting for confirmation that the work on the tennis court will coincide with the work on the basketball court, however it is possible the tennis court will carry into June.

The Sport Courts Project represents a major investment that is long overdue.  The tennis court is in good shape but in need of a major crack repair.  The basketball court has failed and cannot be replaced without wasting additional reserve funds.

It is the Board’s goal to invest smartly so that these amenities can be enjoyed for years to come and treated with the proper respect.
